Oct 29, 2015 | Women's Soccer
Senior defenders Elysia Masters and Marissa Duguay were both named to the 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-District III teams, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday.
Masters received first-team recognition for the second consecutive season, while Duguay was named to the second team.
To be nominated for this award, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore starter or significant reserve. The nominee must also have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average.
A Biomedical Engineering major, Masters has compiled a 3.93 overall GPA while also starting every match of her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. She is one of six Tigers to have started every match this year.
Duguay, an Economics major, has compiled a 3.90 overall GPA and has played in 69 matches and made 68 starts in her four-year career. She has had an injury plagued senior season and has 11 starts to her name this year.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
