Women’s Tennis Splitting For Action at Purdue and ITA All-Americans

MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis women's tennis team will split up this weekend and participate in a pair of tournaments, beginning Friday.

Juniors Anki Wind and Marta Morga will head to the ITA All-America to participate in singles, and Wind and Hanna Sohn will compete in doubles at the event. Freshman Janina Berres is the No. 4 seed in the Boiler Up Draw and will open against host Purdue's Nicole Robinson on Friday, then will face Illinois' Ines Vlas, Saturday. She will wrap up her tournament against Kansas' Smith Hinton, Sunday.

Senior Kathryn Hughes will also be at the Purdue tournament and is the No. 2 seed in the Hammer Down Draw. She will open against Mississippi State's Anastasia Rentouli, Friday, before facing Jessie Paul of Louisville, Saturday. She will finish her tournament schedule Sunday against Purdue's Andjela Djokovic.

Tara McElroy is also listed in the field in the Boilermaker Special Draw. She is scheduled to play Iowa's Adorabol Huckleby, Friday, Notre Dame's Darby Mountford, Saturday, and Purdue's Claudia Escribens, Sunday.

There is also one doubles draw that will be contended, starting Friday. Hughes and Berres will open their doubles run against Louisville's Suswam and Boesing at 9 a.m., Friday.
