Spirit Squads' National Performance Preview Set for Sunday

The University of Memphis spirit squads will provide a peak into what they have in store for the upcoming Universal Dance Association and Universal Cheer Association championships when they preview their performances Sunday in the Elma Roane Fieldhouse.

Sunday's event is slated for 6 p.m. with doors opening an hour prior to accommodate what is expected to be a capacity audience. Tickets are $5 and cost of admission will help offset travel costs for the teams.

Performing will be Memphis Pom as well as Memphis' Coed and All-Girl Cheer Teams along with Pouncer. Several other local teams are set to perform on Sunday.

Last year Memphis posted three, top-10 finishes at the UDA and UCA championships. This year's championship will be held Jan. 17-18 at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla.
