Ten Student-Athletes Honored at Spring Honors Ceremony

Ten University of Memphis student-athletes were recognized at the Honors Assembly on Sunday. The Honors Assembly is held each spring to recognize the top students in various departments on campus.
The 10 award winners and their respective honors were:
Kylie Davis, Women's Soccer
- Distinguished Herff College of Engineering Scholarship: Awarded to outstanding students in the Herff College of Engineering who maintain exceptionally high academic standards.
Tyrell Forde, Men's Track & Field
- Herff College of Enginnering, Associated General Contractors: Awarded to outstanding students majoring in Civil Engineering
Austin Gross, Men's Soccer
- College of Education, Health and Human Sciences, Harold W. Perry Scholarship: The Cerebral Palsy Council for West Tennessee established this scholarship which is awarded to undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in a degree program with a concentration in Special Education.
- College of Education, Health and Human Sciences, George W. Etheridge Alumni Scholarship: Award assists students who demonstrate leadership in the College, the University and the community.
Kimi Jennings, Women's Track & Field
- Outstanding Senior in Sport and Leisure Management: Awarded in recognition of meritorious scholarship, leadership and service to the University, the community and the profession.
Samantha Keane, Women's Soccer
- Department of Chemistry, Outstanding Chemistry Student: Presented annually to the student in General Chemistry who has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability and scholastic achievement.
Meagan Nichols, Women's Track & Field
- College of Communication and Fine Arts - Dean's Academic Achievement Award: Awarded to the graduating CCFA student with the highest grade point average.
- Department of Journalism - Robert Johnson Variety Club Scholarship
- Highest Grade Point Average for the University-Undergraduate
- M-Club Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Tim Jones, Men's Track & Field
- Herff College of Engineering, Charlie T. Mulwee Memorial Fund Scholarship: Awarded to outstanding students majoring in Civil Engineering.
- Herff College of Engineering, Richard E. Whitmore Scholarship: Awarded to outstanding students majoring in Civil Engineering
Trent Scott, Men's Track & Field
- M-Club Male Scholar Athlete of the Year
Stephen Tankersley, Men's Track & Field
- Herff College of Engineering's Francis "Marie" Dean Endowment Scholarship: Awarded to outstanding students in the Herff College of Engineering who maintain exceptionally high academic standards.
Jimmy Zaken, Rifle
- Honors Graduate, Department of Naval Science: Honor awarded annually to the Naval ROTC graduate selected as the one student in the class who consistently demonstrated the highest leadership ability throughout the program.
