WEEKEND PROMOTIONS
This weekend serves as Military Appreciation Weekend for the Memphis baseball team as all military receive free admission with a military ID.
• $1 Concessions Friday: Fans that attend Friday's 6:30 p.m. game can enjoy $1 concession deals on chips, candy, popcorn and sunflower seeds.
• YOUTH JERSEY SATURDAY: All youth teams sporting their baseball jersey receive FREE admission. Up to three coaches of each team can also receive FREE admission, but all other family and friends will have to pay regular admission fees.
• FREE ICE CREAM SATURDAY: The first 250 fans to Saturday's 2 p.m. game will receive a Memphis Tigers mini helmet with ice cream, courtesy of Turner Dairy. One lucky fan will have the chance to win ice cream for a year.
• SENIOR SUNDAY: Fans 65 and up get in for only $1 on Sunday's all season long.
THE SERIES
• Memphis and UConn meet for the first time since 2005 with the three-game set at FedExPark.
• The Huskies are 2-0 against the U of M earing a 3-1 decision in March of 2005 and a 10-3 victory in 1999.
• The two previous meetings were neutral site contests in the Service Academies Classic at USA Stadium.
LATE INNING WOES
• The Tigers bullpen held strong at USF allowing no runs after the seventh inning, but late innings have hurt the Tigers this season.
• Memphis has been outscored 54-25 after the seventh inning.
• Opponents have outscored the Tigers 35-12 in the eighth inning alone, 22-8 since March 25.
• Since playing Arkansas State on March 25, Memphis has a deficit of 34-12 after the seventh inning.
• The Tigers foes are hitting .298 in the eighth inning this season with 54 hits and Memphis pitchers carry a 5.20 ERA in the inning allowing 35 runs, 27 earned, and 11 doubles.
IRONMAN
• Senior shortstop Ethan Gross made his 204th career start on Wednesday.
• Gross has started in 200 consecutive games, a school record.
• Gross started in the final 36-straight of the 2011 season and made all 59 starts in 2012 and 2013.
• Gross has started every game since March 26, 2011 against East Carolina, the second game of the doubleheader.
• Gross ranks second nationally in consecutive starts behind only outfielder Justin Glass who has started 211-straight for Cincinnati.
CLIMBING OUT OF A DROUGHT
• The Tigers got off to a hot start at 11-1, but have won back-to-back games just twice since.
• Since the hot start, the Tigers have five, three-game losing streaks.
• The 11-game splits are labeled by 1-2-3-4-5 for the first 45 games played.

APPEARANCE RECORD?
• Freshman RHP Nolan Blackwood is on pace to set the single-season record for appearances.
• The freshman arm has appeared in 26 games, putting him tied for third in the single-season ranks.
• Jonathan Van Eaton holds the single-season record after making 30 appearances in 2012.
WALLINGFORD CHASES TOP ERA
• Junior southpaw Caleb Wallingford has taken over as the ace of the Tigers pitching staff and is set for his eighth Friday night start this weekend versus UConn.
• With 70 1/3 innings pitched, Wallingford has topped the 60 IP needed to qualify for the single-season ERA record.
• Wallingford sports a 1.02 ERA in 10 starts and 12 appearances. Below is a current look at the top six single-season ERA’s in program history.

BIG INNINGS MATTER
• Big innings are a big focus for the Tigers and the stats prove the worth.
• When the Tigers put together a big inning - scoring three or more runs in an inning - they sport an 14-5 record.
• The offense has 20 big innings since March 1, covering 14 games.
• From the mound, the Tigers have allowed 23 big innings since March 7.
• Prior to that date, the Memphis staff had allowed just two big innings.
• Memphis is 18-7 on the year when the staff keeps an opponent from scoring three or more runs in an inning, but 6-15 when allowing the opponents to score in bunches.
SUTTON ON THE BUTTON
• Freshman RHP Trevor Sutton has the decision in two-straight games for the Tigers earning the win over USF on Sunday and the victory against Mississippi Valley on Wednesday.
• Sutton becomes the first Memphis pitcher to earn wins in back-to-back Tigers win since Jonathan Van Eaton accomplished the feat on May 5 and May 6 of 2012.
RECORD PACE
• The Tigers have 14 saves on the season, chasing the record of 19 set a season ago.
• In the record setting 2013 season for saves, Memphis posted its 13th save on April 26 in game No. 43.
• Since saves appeared in the yearly stats in 1977, the Tigers have matched or bettered the season total of 33 clubs.
