MIAMI LAKES, Fla. - The University of Memphis women's golf team completed their first spring tournament, placing 13th in the Sir Pizza Terrapin Challenge in Miami Lakes, Fla. The Lady Tigers posted a 327 on the final day, and ended the tournament with score of 953. Ashleigh Whisenant led the Lady Tigers with a three-day total of 233 to place 45th.

Whisenant closed the tournament with a six-over 78 to end with her second lowest score of the season, 233. Natalie Turk and Alex Aläng followed Whisenant with a 71st and 72nd place finishes, respectively. Turk posted a tournament score of 242 after a final round of 85 while Aläng carded an 84 in the third round to finish with a tournament score of 243.

Ashley Kees and Shelby Sain rounded out the Lady Tigers' squad with scores of 244 and 253. Kees posted an 80 in the final round while Sain closed with an 86.

North Carolina State won the team title after shooting 284 in the final round for a tournament total of 874. The Wolfpack also had the top three finishers with Lindsay McGetrick winning the individual title with a score of 212. Florida International finished second at 886 while Miami (Fla.) placed third at 895 and Maryland finish fourth with an 899.

Memphis will be in action again on March 11-12 at the Lady Eagle Insperity Invitational hosted by Southern Miss in Hattiesburg, Miss.
