“This is a very strong field,” said Lady Tiger head coach Beth Harrelson. “We’re looking forward to a good, competitive start this week, despite the fact that we haven’t been able to practice very much because of all the winter weather.”
Competition will begin on Sunday with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m., followed by a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start on Monday and an 8 a.m. start on Tuesday.
Memphis concluded the fall portion of its schedule by winning the UAB Fall Beach Blast, the first victory for the program since claiming the 2007 Conference USA Championship and the first under second-year head coach Beth Harrelson. The Lady Tigers were led by Freshman Sarah Mathew’s two day total of three-over-par.
Mathew’s tied for runner-up honors, the lowest finish by a Memphis individual since Alexa Porter also finished second in the 2007 Conference USA Championship.
