TULSA, Okla. - No. 15 Tulsa scored two goals in the first 18 minutes to take down the Memphis Tigers, 2-0. With the loss, Memphis falls to 6-7-2 (2-5-0 C-USA). Tulsa improves to 10-4-2 with the win. The Golden Hurricane moves into a tie with UAB for the Conference USA lead with Sunday's win. Tulsa is 5-1-1 in conference play this season.

Memphis attempted the first shot of the half in the third minute when freshman midfielder Jon Wright put a shot on frame. The attempt was saved by Tulsa goalkeeper Andy Aguilar

Tulsa got on the board first in the sixth minute when Kilian Poeschk, a senior from Berlin,Germany, struck the ball from 12 yards out, scoring on an empty Memphis net. Chris Taylor, a junior from Edmond, Okla., was credited with the assist on Poeschk's goal. The goal was the Tulsa forwards' fifth of the season.

In the 15th minute, Tulsa sophomore Austin Neil, a former high school teammate of Memphis defender Thomas Shannon, attempted a shot on goal, the ball was saved by Memphis netminder Michael Goodlett.

Neil attempted a shot again in the 18th minute, Goodlett saved the ball, but the ball was not cleared out of the Memphis side. Reigning C-USA Offensive Player of the Year Ashley McInnes took the ball off a Memphis defender and scored his seventh goal of the 2009 season.

Neil had his third shot on goal in the half in the 45th minute. Goodlett picked up his third save of the half on the attempt.

Memphis' Brian Farrell ended the half with the Tigers' second shot on goal attempt. Farrell's ball was saved by Aguilar.

Tulsa went into the dressing room with a 2-0 lead on the Tigers. The Golden Hurricane had an nine to two edge in shots in the first half. Tulsa had five shots on goal to Memphis' two.

Goodlett, a senior from Bolton, Miss., allowed two goals and had three saves in the first half.

Aguilar, the Tulsa netminder, had two saves and had a clean sheet in the first half. Tulsa opened up the second frame with three shots on goal. In the 48th minute, Joe Salem's shot was saved Goodlett. Matt Boullt struck with an attempt seconds later. Goodlett recorded his fifth save of the game on the shot.

In the 51st minute, Salem's second shot on goal of the half was again saved by Goodlett, his sixth of the game.

Memphis' first shot on goal of the second half came in the 60th minute when leading goal-scorer Parker Duncan's shot was saved by Aguilar.

Ryan Ruble attempted the Tigers' fourth shot on goal of the game in the 84th minute. Aguilar stopped the ball for his fourth save of the contest.

In the 85th minute Cody McCoy's shot attempt went wide left.

In the 87th minute, Neil, a native of Broken Arrow, Okla., attempted a header shot. Goodlett stopped the ball for his seventh save of the contest.

Tulsa finished the game with 19 shots to five shots for the Tigers. The Golden Hurricane had nine shots on goal to Memphi's four shots on goal.

Goodlett, the Memphis goalkeeper, falls to 6-7-2 on the season. The native of Bolton, Miss., has appeared in every minute of all 15 Memphis games this season. On Sunday, Goodlett accumulated seven saves, tying his second-best saves total of the season. Goodlett also had seven saves against UAB.

Aguilar picks up the win in goal for the Golden Hurricane. The senior from Downey, Calif., picked up the shutout for Tulsa. He finished with four saves on the game.

With the loss, Memphis falls to 2-3-1 all-time in televised games. Sunday's game was taped by CBS COllege Sports and will be aired on Tues., Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. Memphis finishes the season with a 0-2-1 record in televised games. The Tigers opened the season with Fox Soccer Channel's "NSCAA Men's Soccer Game of the Week" where they tied Bradley 1-1 in double overtime.

The Tigers will wrap up the season on Nov. 7 at home against the South Carolina Gamecocks. The match will serve as senior night for Rick Alleman, Brian Farrell and Michael Goodlett. The trio has been vital for the growth of the program since arriving on campus in 2006.

Prior to the final match of the season, an alumni game will be played at 4:30 p.m., at the main stadium at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex. The game will pit two teams made up of Memphis soccer alumni and current Memphis coaches. Also, Friday prior to the match, the program will host the annual Tommy Smith Banquet in the lobby of the Murphy Athletic Complex on the Park Avenue Campus. Admission is free for the banquet.
