Women's Basketball Receives Recognition From NCAA

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The University of Memphis women's basketball team is one of 33 NCAA Division I basketball teams recognized by the NCAA for posting a multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports. The Lady Tigers were joined on the list of 33 women's Division I programs receiving the Public Recognition Award by one other Conference USA program, as Rice University was also on the list.
The list of 33 programs is below. The 2006-07 academic year will come to an official end on Friday when final exams end. Memphis has already received a pair of academic awards, as redshirt sophomore Jessica Hall received a Conference USA Academic Medal and was also named an Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar.
