Tigers Fall at No. 2 SMU

DALLAS, Texas - The men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker to the No. 2 team in the country tonight, 1-0, in a Conference USA match in Dallas, Texas. The league-leading Mustangs tallied the game-winning score in the 34th minute on Bruno Guarda's header from eight yards out. The Tigers limited SMU to just five shots on goal during the match but managed only two themselves, and drop to 2-1-3 in C-USA play.
Tyler Strom recorded four saves in the loss, the Tigers' first in C-USA play this year. Memphis is now 8-3-4 on the season while the Mustangs improve to 11-2-2 (6-0-2 C-USA).
Memphis returns home to host Alabama A&M Wednesday night at Mike Rose Soccer Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
