MEMPHIS, TENN. - The University of Memphis Athletic Department and Tiger Sports Properties announced today that three new FM radio stations will carry all football and men's basketball radio broadcasts for the next three years.
With the addition of the three new stations to the Memphis Tiger Radio Network, a majority of fans in the west and central areas of Tennessee will now have access to Tiger games on the radio. The stations added to the network include WTKB (Jackson, Tenn.), WSIB (Selmer, Tenn.) and WFGZ (Dickson, Tenn.)
"This long-term commitment by Grace Broadcasting to air all football and men's basketball broadcasts shows significant progress on growing the radio network," said Brent A. Seebohm, general manager of Tiger Sports Properties. "We are proud to partner with Lacy Ennis' staff, as there are nearly 3,200 U of M alumni in this priority coverage area. It is imperative that our Tiger fans in the extended Jackson area prompt their businesses to support the broadcasts, on all three FM stations, via a valuable local radio sponsorship investment."
The three stations added to the Radio Network are part of the Dove Network. WFGZ operates at 22,000 watts while WTKB and WSIB operate at 15,000 and 6,000 watts, respectively.
"Grace Broadcasting is very excited to have the opportunity to partner with the University of Memphis in this endeavor," stated President/CEO, Lacy Ennis. "We believe the University of Memphis has demonstrated a deep commitment to developing a successful basketball and football program for years to come.
"We are proud to be able to broadcast the Tigers to the thousands of loyal fans in west and middle Tennessee through the Dove 94 Network," added Ennis.
The Tiger Radio Network also consists of flagship station WMC-AM790, WAMB in Nashville, which carries just Tiger Football, WKBQ in Covington, Tenn. and WKRA out of Holly Springs, Miss.
