Senior University of Memphis men's soccer forward Dayton O'Brien was named to the NSCAA/adidas All-Midwest Region Second Team on Thursday.
The honor is the fourth-straight regional team selection for the Memphis native who holds the Tiger program record for career assists with 34. In 2004, O'Brien became the first Memphis soccer player to be named an All-American.
A product of Evangelical Christian, O'Brien totaled 16 points for the Tigers with four goals and eight assists. The team captain helped Memphis earn its second-straight appearance in the Conference USA Tournament. An All-C-USA First Team selection, O'Brien is one of three players to register at least 20 goals and 20 assists in their careers at Memphis. O'Brien finishes his four-year career with 82 points on 24 goals and 34 assists.
O'Brien is joined on the regional team with fellow Memphis native and Creighton junior midfielder Michael Kraus.
