BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Blazers of Alabama-Birmingham, fought off a young squad from Memphis friday night, by a score of 2-0. This contest featured a total of 30 shots from both teams, 7 from the Lady Tigers and an astounding 23, from UAB.
It was Adrienne Juffridge, scoring the first goal of the match for the host Blazers in the 73rd minute, right after the start of the second half. Just ten minutes later UAB struck again, as Melissa Urbani added another goal in the 83rd minute, and that would be all for Memphis.
This game was a tough loss that now leaves the Lady Tigers with a record of 5-13 on the season. Conference honors will be announced in the upcoming week.
