NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The University of Memphis women's soccer team found lots of offense on its road trip to Nashville with a 6-1 victory over the Bruins on Tuesday evening.
The game's first 20 minutes were dominated by the Bruins who had at least two excellent scoring chances, but all that changed 22 minutes into the match when Meredith Smith scored the first of two goals on the evening and broke the scoreless match.
Memphis would seal the victory when they put three goals on the scoreboard in the matter of four minutes during the middle of the first half. The Lady Tigers would take a 4-0 advantage into the break and would score twice more before the Bruins scored their only goal of the match with under 10 minutes left.
Smith and Ali Baker each had two tallies, while Spiniolis and Winslett each added a goal in the victory. Michelle Meduri had the Tigers' two assists in the win.
Belmont fell to an even 6-6-0 while Memphis improved to 4-9-0 with the victory.
