Terdell Middleton came to Memphis State University from Southside High School in Memphis and became a two sport letter winner before his career ended in 1976. The speedy tailback rushed for 1,970 yards in his four years as a Tiger and ranked as the third leading rusher in school history at the end of his senior season. In 1976 Middleton rushed for 919 yards despite missing one game due to injury. His 919 yards ranked as the second highest single season total in Tiger history at the time and his 19 career touchdowns still ranks in a tie for the sixth place among all Tiger rushers. He twice rushed for over 100 yards against Florida State and had a career high 143 yards rushing against Tulsa in 1975. As a member of the Tiger track team, Middleton set the Memphis State record for the long jump at 25’8”. Following his career at MSU, Middleton was drafted by the Green Bay Packers and played from 1977-81. He was an All-Pro selection in 1979.
