Steve Jaggard, a native of New Jersey, transferred to the University of Memphis in 1968 after playing two seasons at William & Mary College in Virginia. He immediately broke into the starting lineup in perhaps the finest overall secondary in the school’s history. In 1968 he recorded 33 tackles, one fumble recovery and four pass interceptions. He helped the Tigers to a 42-21 victory over West Texas State with a 30-yard interception return for a touchdown. As a senior, Jaggard and David Berrong registered eight interceptions each to help Memphis to a third place national ranking in pass interceptions. Jaggard is currently ranked fourth in career pass interceptions. He was drafted into both the NFL and CFL after graduation and chose to play for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL. He now lives in Houston, Texas, where he is the President and CEO of Vantage Houston, Inc.
