Jerry Christopher

Induction:
1996

Jerry Christopher lettered as an offensive and defensive end for the Tigers for four years, 1953-56 and ran track for two years. The Athens, Alabama, native played for coach Ralph Hatley and earned his degree in education in 1956 and his master’s degree in 1957. He began a teaching career that lasted 36 years and during his tenure, Christopher served as an assistant coach, head coach, assistant principal and athletic director while working at Messick, Halls, Catholic, Humboldt and Fairview High Schools. He also worked for the Tennessee Department of Education for 11years.
