Henry Ladyman

Henry Ladyman played tennis for the Tigers under former head coach Tommy Buford from 1969-72. He was the first import player for Memphis State from Australia and lettered for four years as the team’s number one player. He won the Missouri Valley Conference championship tournament in singles and also won the singles title in the Big Gold Tournament in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Ladyman compiled an overall record of 63-10 in his four years at MSU and led the team to two Missouri Valley Conference titles. He lived in Perth, Australia, where he tended to his family business. Ladyman was followed to Memphis State by his cousin Jim Ladyman, who also played for Buford and later his daughter, Christina, who played for Charlotte Peterson.
