A native of Gary, Indiana, Dennis Biodrowski came to the University of Memphis, then Memphis State, in 1958 to play for former head
coach Billy J. Murphy. Biodrowski worked as an offensive and defensive lineman for the Tigers for four years and helped the team to an overall record of 30-9. During his tenure, the Tigers had victories over such noted schools as Florida State, Southern Mississippi and Mississippi State. Biodrowski, who earned a BS degree in Art and Education, was drafted by the Cleveland Browns and played one season before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs. He spent five seasons as an offensive guard with the Chiefs and served as special teams captain. In 1967 the Chiefs played the Green Packers in the first Super Bowl. After his career in the NFL, Biodrowski entered the restaurant and construction business. In 1998 the former U of M great was named to Athlon Magazine’s all-time Memphis Tiger team.
