Will Pearson, a former golfer for the University of Memphis, joined the program as a graduate assistant coach in January 2015 and was promoted to full-time assistant in 2017. He was an integral contributor to the team's 2019 American Athletic Conference tournament title, a first for men's golf in the AAC and the first since winning the 2012 Conference USA championship.
As a player at Memphis, Pearson was a three-time letter-winner and garnered All-American Athletic Conference Honors his senior year. During his illustrious career with the Tigers, the Memphis native helped the program to NCAA Regional appearances all three years and an NCAA Championship berth in 2012.
Individually, Pearson recorded the second-lowest round in school history when he shot a 64 at the USF Invitational during the 2013-14 season. The 65 he shot at the NCAA West Regional in 2013 is tied for the fourth-lowest round in school history.
During his senior campaign, he averaged 72.5 strokes per round -- sixth-best in school history -- and his career 73.5 mark places him sixth all-time.
