Softball travels to Martin to play midweek non-conference games

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis softball team will travel to UT Martin for a doubleheader day trip on Tuesday afternoon. The doubleheader against the Skyhawks is set to begin at 4 p.m. at the Bettye Giles Softball Field.

Memphis is coming off of a 1-2 weekend on the road at first-place Tulsa. Christian Novak led the Tigers to their 20^th victory of the season with a three-hit shutout victory on Saturday.

Quick Hitters

Memphis is 20-16 overall and 3-3 in American Athletic Conference play coming into this week.
The Tigers are 9-5 all-time against UT Martin with the last meeting coming on April 27, 2016 at home. Memphis won that game 3-2 over the Skyhawks.
Lindsay Crowdus continues to be dominant at the plate after going 9-for-18 this past week which ultimately resulted in her becoming the career all-time hits leader at Memphis. She broke the previous record of 207 set by Leila Dolfo.
Crowdus is the league leader in batting average (.483) and hits (56). Her 56 hits put her just seven shy of matching the season record for hits by a Memphis player.
Kyler Trosclair is not far behind Crowdus offensively with a .434 batting average. She has stolen a team-high 24 bases, which has tied her for the all-time record of 57 set by Leandra Hines.
Head coach Natalie Poole is in her sixth season at the helm of the Memphis program.
