Crowdus Named To Weekly Honor Roll
Apr 17, 2017 | Softball
In the only game of the week, Crowdus went 3-for-3 against a ranked Ole Miss squad
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – For the fourth time this season, senior outfielder Lindsay Crowdus has been recognized by the American Athletic Conference for her efforts last week. The Houma, La. native was named to the Weekly Honor Roll Monday afternoon.
Â
This is the 10th time a Memphis player has been recognized by the conference. Ten times in a season matches the previous number of honors given out last season.
Â
Crowdus, a USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Finalist and the nation's leader in batting average with a mark of .496, went a perfect 3-for-3 against No. 22/25 Ole Miss last week. The Tigers competed in just one game last week, but her performance raised her batting average 11 points and has her sitting just three hits shy of being the nation's leader in that category.
Â
Overall, Crowdus has 68 hits this year which is a single-season high at the University of Memphis. She also leads the team in triples, stolen bases and RBI.
Â
The Tigers are now going to hit the road this week for a doubleheader at Murray State on Wednesday and a three-game series at USF on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Saturday's game against the Bulls will broadcast on the American Digital Network.
