Tigers Back On Track With Sweep Friday

Memphis defeats Saint Louis in extras, handles Eastern Kentucky in seven

Saint Louis took an early lead against the Tigers and held on to it until the bottom of the sixth inning when Addison Maxwell doubled to center field to score Jessie Lamb. From there until the bottom of the 13th it was a pitchers duel with no runs crossing the plate.

In the 13th, Lindsay Crowdus hit her team-leading sixth triple of the year to get the bats started for the Tigers. She ultimately scored on a fielder's choice bunt by Tyler Johnson with one out.

Memphis took the lead from Eastern Kentucky early and even though the Colonels rallied late with runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth, the Tigers held on for the victory.

Notables
- The 13-inning game against Saint Louis matched the longest game in school history. The previous 13-inning game was on March 31, 2012 against Southern Miss at home.
- Kyler Trosclair and Lindsay Crowdus recorded seven at bats each against the Billikens, which is only the second and third time in school history a player had reached that mark.
- Four players recorded at least three hits against Saint Louis with Crowdus leading the way with four. It was the second time this season she has registered four hits in a game. She backed that performance up with a 4-for-4 showing at the plate. Crowdus finished the day going 8-for-11 with four RBI, a triple, and two stolen bases.
- Christian Novak came in relief for Memphis in the top of the first inning. She ended with a career-high 14 strikeouts in 12.2 innings of work.
- The Tigers recorded a season-high 15 hits against Saint Louis.
- Lindsey Stickrod went 3-for-3 in game two of the day, marking the first three-hit game of the season.
- Molly Smith earned the win over Eastern Kentucky while Katie Brignac recorded her first save of the season.
- Addison Maxwell continued to hit well for the Tigers with a 4-for-7 showing and four drawn walks. Maxwell had two doubles against the Billikens.
- Memphis recorded 14 stolen bases as a team with Trosclair leading the way with a perfect 5-for-5 effort.
- The Tigers were perfect in the field on Friday.

Game 1 – Memphis 4, Saint Louis 3 (13 innings)
Top 1 – Saint Louis led the game off with a double and a walk. Those two runners advanced to second and third due to a sacrifice bunt before a double down the right field line scored them both. (2 runs, 2 hits, 0 errors, 1 left on base)
Bottom 1 – A double down the left field line to lead off the game extended Kyler Trosclair's hitting streak to six games. She advanced to third on a wild pitch and when Addison Maxwell walked and distracted the defense in a stolen base, Trosclair came around to score. (1 run, 1 hit, 0 errors, 2 left on base)
Top 3 – The Billikens led the inning off with a single through the right side. After the runner stole second and advanced to third on a ground out to the first baseman, she scored when the Tigers tried to throw a runner out at second on a stolen base play. (1 run, 1 hit, 0 errors, 1 left on base)
Bottom 3 – Addison Maxwell doubled over the head of the left fielder and came around to third after a Lindsay Crowdus single to center field. Regan Hadley laid down a sacrifice bunt to the first baseman and Maxwell scored. (1 run, 2 hits, 0 errors, 3 left on base)
Bottom 6 – Sara Ann Davidson led the inning off with a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Hannah Harrell. Jessie Lamb came in to pinch run for Davidson and scored on a double to center field by Addison Maxwell. (1 run, 2 hits, 0 errors, 1 left on base)
Bottom 13 – Crowdus led the inning off with her team-leading sixth triple. She scored on a fielder's choice bunt by Tyler Johnson. (1 run 2 hits, 0 errors, 2 left on base)

Game 2 – Memphis 5, Eastern Kentucky 3
Bottom 1 – Five straight Tigers reached base in the bottom of the first, started by Addison Maxwell's single up the middle. Three errors were committed in the inning, which resulted in one of the two runs scoring. (2 runs, 3 hits, 3 errors, 2 left on base)
Bottom 2 – With two outs, Kyler Trosclair drew a walk. She scored after Lindsay Crowdus singled up the middle. (1 run, 1 hit, 0 errors, 2 left on base)
Top 4 – A single combined with a wild pitch and a double drove in the first Eastern Kentucky run of the game. (1 run, 2 hits, 0 errors, 1 left on base)
Bottom 4 – Memphis answered with one in the fourth after Crowdus drove in Trosclair on a single to right field. Trosclair reached base with a bunt single to the catcher. (1 run, 2 hits, 0 errors, 1 left on base)
Top 5 – A double down the left field line to start off the inning resulted in a run scored after a sacrifice bunt and a wild pitch. (1 run, 1 hit, 0 errors, 1 left on base)
Top 6 – A walk and a double with one out put runners on second and third. The runner on third scored on a single to right field two batters later. (1 run, 2 hits, 0 errors, 3 left on base)
Bottom 6 – Trosclair drew another walk and promptly stole second. A single up the middle by Crowdus scored Trosclair. (1 run, 2 hits, 0 errors, 1 left on base)
