Tigers play first midweek game of the season against the Aggies
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis softball team continues its stretch of home games throughout the month of March by welcoming No. 5 Texas A&M to the Tigers Softball Complex Tuesday evening. First pitch against the nationally-ranked Aggies is set for 5:30 p.m.

- Memphis enters the game against Texas A&M with an 11-10 overall record after finishing 2-3 at the UofM Softball Tournament last weekend.
- The Tigers earned victories over Oakland and Buffalo before falling to Indiana, Lipscomb, and Western Illinois.
- Lindsay Crowdus leads the Tigers with a .455 batting average and 30 hits. She also leads the team with 11 runs driven in and five triples.
- Kyler Trosclair is also averaging over .400 for the Tigers at .407. She has 22 hits on the year with three extra base hits and a .458 on base percentage.
- Through 21 games, the Tigers have stolen 44 bases with Trosclair leading the way with 12.Â
- Against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Crowdus set the school record with four stolen bases in one game. Her previous career-high was three against Central Arkansas on April 5, 2016.
- Crowdus is now just two shy of matching her season-high of 13 set last year.
- The duo of Crowdus and Trosclair join redshirt-senior Hannah Harrell and former Tiger Leandra Hines as the only players in school history to have at least 40 stolen bases in their career.
- Head coach Natalie Poole is in her sixth season at the helm of the Memphis program. This is the first meeting while the head coach of Memphis that Poole has played Texas A&M.
A Look At The Competition
- Texas A&M comes into the midweek with a 21-2 overall record. This will be the first true road game for the Aggies.
- The only two losses for Texas A&M this season are against SEC opponent Mississippi State last weekend and fellow American Athletic Conference opponent Houston a few weeks back.
- Riley Sartain leads the Aggies with a .431 batting average. She has eight extra base hits this season and has driven in 14 runs.
- The Aggies have three pitchers with significant time in the circle and two of those carry an ERA of less than one. Trinity Harrington leads the team with a 0.85 ERA while Lexi Smith has a team-high 66 strikeouts. Samantha Show has won eight games for the Aggies in 12 appearances.
- Texas A&M is a threat on the base paths, stealing 40 so far this season. The Aggies are also solid on defense with a .987 team fielding percentage.
- This is the second time in school history that Memphis and Texas A&M have faced off. The Aggies defeated Memphis in 2011 by a score of 1-0 in nine innings.
