Haggerty, Hunter Named to Maui Invitational All-Tournament Team

LAHAINA, Hawaii – Two University of Memphis men's basketball players were named to the Maui Invitational All-Tournament Team, PJ Haggerty and Tyrese Hunter, the tournament announced Thursday.
Haggerty, a redshirt sophomore out of Crosby, Texas, led the team with 21.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game during the tournament. He went on to score 27 points in the Championship Game against #4 Auburn where he went 11-20 from the field and grabbed a team-high nine boards.
Hunter, a senior from Racine, Wisc., lit up the start of the tournament going a combined 12-20 from long range against #2 UConn and #RV Michigan State. He went on to finish with 20.0 points per game while shooting 50 percent from the field and 58 percent from beyond the arc.
Along with Haggerty and Hunter, Johni Broome and Chad Baker-Mazzara from Auburn, Keshon Gilbert from Iowa State and Seth Trimble from North Carolina were named to the All-Tournament Team.
