Memphis Athletics Earns “Innovator of the Year” at PACnet
Mar 01, 2023 | General
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis Athletics' Tickets & Revenue Solutions department has won "Innovator of the Year" at ticketing partner Paciolan's 2023 PACnet conference.
Memphis' two most-ticketed sports, football and men's basketball, play at venues owned and operated by outside entities using two different ticketing systems (Paciolan at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium and Ticketmaster at FedExForum). Spearheaded by Associate Athletic Director, Tickets & Revenue Solutions Chris Condit and Director of Ticket Operations Maria Moreno, Memphis worked to find a digital ticketing solution allowing for live barcodes from multiple primary systems to be scanned in real time.
By innovating a seamless solution, Memphis fans can enjoy the benefits of their MyTickets account, including transferring to family and friends, through game time no matter the venue. Memphis saw over 12,000 tickets transferred this past year for a year-over-year increase of 256 percent, resulting in over 1,800 new accounts.
"Congratulations to Chris, Maria and our entire ticket department on this well-deserved award," University of Memphis Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Laird Veatch said. "'Innovate' is one of the pillars of our culture statement, and our team did not shy away from the significant amount of work required to innovate this solution for our fans. We are constantly striving to provide the best for Tiger Nation and be on the forefront of industry evolution, and this award is a prime example of that."
The other finalists for "Innovator of the Year" were TCU and San Jose State.
