2008 Outdoor: Morris redshirted the 2008 outdoor track and field season.
2008 Indoor: Morris competed in six meets during the 2008 indoor track and field season...She competed in the indoor pentathlon and all of the events throughout the 2008 season for the Tigers...She participated in the pentathlon at the Arkansas State Invitational... She also set a season best distance in the shot put with a throw of 10.48m (34-04.75)...At the SIU McDonalds Invitational, she recorded a season best in the long jump with a distance of 5.56m (18-03.00)...She ran a season best 55m hurdles time of 8.35 at the SEMO Invite and placed second...At the C-USA Championships she set a personal best pentathlon record with 3514 points...During the competition she set a season bests in the 800m run with a time of 2:28.64, high jump with a height of 1.60m (5-03.00), and a 8.99 time for the 60m hurdles.
2007 Outdoor: Placed 3rd in the long jump with a leap of 5.60 meters, 4th in the 100 meter hurdles and 8th in the 100 meters with times of 15.23 and 12.70 ... Had a throw of 9.97 meters in the shot put at the Lynx Invitational ... Had a total of 3775 points in the heptathlon at the C-USA Championships.
2007 Indoor: Placed 2nd in the pentathlon at the ASU Kickoff Classic with a total of 3296 points ... Took 7th in the pentathlon at the Gladstein Invitational, highlighted by a 2nd place finish in the 800 meters and a 4th place finish in the shot put ... Placed 4th in the long jump at the McDonald's Invitational with a leap of 5.49 meters and 2nd in the 200 meters with a time of 26.20 ... Took 1st in the Red Hawk Invitational in the long jump with a distance of 18'10 ½ and 2nd in the 55 meters and 55 meter hurdles with times of 7.25 and 8.59 ... Placed 5th at C-USA Championships in the pentathlon with a total of 3375 points.
Prior to Memphis: From 2004-05 at Abilene Christian, she competed in the 200m, 400m, sprint relays and long jump in her freshman year of college...Struggled with injuries for much of the season, but still managed to post solid results late in the year...Placed second in the long jump at the Lone Star Conference Championships, helping ACU to a second-place team finish...Chose to transfer in order to focus primarily on jumping events.
PREP: Attended Earl Warren H.S. where she participated in basketball, swimming, cheerleading and cross country, as well as track and field...Voted best jumper and best sprinter for her sophomore and junior seasons and team MVP her senior season...Won the Texas State 400m championship in 2003 when she was also part of a state-championship team in the mile relay...Broke school records in the long jump and mile relay...Chosen as MVP of her basketball team in 2004...Twice named Who's Who Among American High School Students...Track coaches were Jim Young and Melany Juquita.
PERSONAL: Born Dec. 22, 1985 in Clark, Philippines...Full name is Eryka Nicole Morris...Daughter of Darryl and Patricia Morris, who are both members of the United States Air Force...Majoring in pre-occupational therapy...Enjoys basketball, swimming and shopping, C.J. Lewis books and Disney movies...Came to Memphis on the recommendation of friend and current and former teammate Annette Uzoh.
