Trevon Tate Named to Outland Trophy Watch List

Senior offensive lineman is one of four returning starters on the O-line.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. –Senior offensive lineman Trevon Tate was been named to the Outland Trophy Watch List, Tuesday. A first team all-conference honoree last year, Tate is part of a Memphis offensive line that returns four starters in 2018.
In three years, with Tate playing either tackle position, the Memphis offensive line has blocked for some of the most prolific offenses in Tiger history.
In 2015, as a redshirt freshman, Tate started in eight of 12 games. That 2015 offense set then-school records for scoring (522 points), total touchdowns (59), passing yards (3,997), plays (1,028) and total yards (6,330).
As a sophomore, Tate started 12 of 13 games and helped an offense that piled up 6,028 total yards (third), points (505) and total touchdowns (57).
In 2017, Memphis ranked second in the FBS in scoring (45.5 ppg), fourth in total offense (532.1 ypg) and seventh in passing offense (335.0 ypg). The Tigers also had a 4,000-yard passer, a 1,000-yard rusher, and a 1,000-yard receiver for the first time in program history.
Memphis will wrap up American Athletic Conference Media Day festivities on Tuesday and will return to report for fall camp on Thurs., Aug. 2. Season tickets for the 2017 season, which includes seven home games, are on sale now at www.GoTigersGoTix.com.
