Tigers and Bruins square off in midweek contest
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis welcomes Belmont to FedExPark for the final $1 Hot Dog Night of the season, Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The contest will be the final midweek this season at FedExPark.

Memphis and Belmont will play for the ninth time, all within the last five seasons, with the current record tied at 4-4. Each team has won two games apiece at home, and two games on the road.
The Tigers won last year's matchup by way of a 6-0 victory. Tiger pitchers Jonathan Bowlan and Danny Denz combined for the shutout.
By winning a game against No. 19 UConn, the Tigers have won games against three top-25 teams in 2018 (UCF, USF, UConn). Memphis has beaten three or more top-25 teams in a season seven times in the Daron Schoenrock era.
After striking out 19 batters over the weekend, the Tigers pitching corps remains the third-ranked staff in The American with 423 total strikeouts this season.
Belmont visits Memphis with a 16-31 record, including a 10-17 Ohio Valley Conference slate. The Bruins are led offensively by Matt Cogen, who hits .351 and has six homeruns. Cogen's 71 hits rank tied for fifth in the OVC.
Belmont's pitching staff carries a 5.99 ERA, and has a combined 372 strikeouts.
The Tigers hit the road this weekend, traveling to New Orleans for a pivotal three-game series at Tulane. With just two weeks left in the regular season, Memphis and Tulane are fighting for one of the final two spots in the American Athletic Conference Tournament.
