Kyser Named to Rimington Trophy Watch List

Senior center is one of four starters returning on the offensive line in 2018.
MEMPHIS – Senior center Drew Kyser was named to the Rimington Trophy Spring Watch List it was announced by the Boomer Esiason Foundation, Wednesday. The award highlight's the nation's most promising centers and Kyser is a three-year honoree on the watch list.
A native of Opelika, Alabama, Kyser has appeared in all 39 games in his college career with 38 starts. He started at center every game of his true freshman season, then started 12 of 13 games as a sophomore and all 13 games last year.
Kyser, a history major at Memphis, centered a Memphis offense that ranked seventh in the country in passing yards per game (335.0) and second with 45.5 points per game. Memphis also ranked tied for ninth in the country in first downs (327) and 18th in red zone offense (90.3 percent).
Kyser is one of four starters returning on the Memphis offensive line, three of them heading in to their senior seasons. Roger Joseph and Trevon Tate also return, as does junior guard Dustin Woodard. Tate was a first team all-conference honoree with now-graduated Gabe Kuhn last season.
Memphis is now preparing for the 2018 season. Season tickets for the seven-game home slate are on sale now and can be purchased online at www.GoTigersGo.com/FootballTickets. Blue lot season parking is already sold out and fans who have not yet renewed their 2017 season tickets have until June 1 to start their renewal process.
