Women’s Soccer Announces 2018 Fall Schedule

Memphis has nine home contests; open home slate with four-straight matches
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – With a home-heavy slate including four-straight to start the year and a match against Mississippi State, the University of Memphis women's soccer team has built a strong fall schedule with sights set high for a berth in its second NCAA Tournament in the last three seasons.
Head coach Brooks Monaghan and the Tigers last went to the postseason in 2016 and hope to make their seventh appearance come November. Five teams on the 2018 schedule qualified for the NCAA Tournament last season.
COMPLETE 2018 FALL SCHEDULE
Memphis has two preseason matches on the schedule, beginning on Aug. 6 with a 5:30 p.m. match against Southeast Missouri on Park Avenue Campus and ending with a road contest at Vanderbilt on Aug. 11.
Beginning on Aug.16 at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex, the Tigers will host four-straight matches to begin the regular season. Nebraska-Omaha is first on the slate with Central Arkansas to follow later that weekend on August 19. The Tigers will then host SEC-foe Mississippi State on Aug. 23 before wrapping up the four-match home-stretch with Arkansas State on Aug. 26.
Memphis then heads to Birmingham, Ala. for a pair of non-conference matches against UAB and Samford on Aug. 30 and Sept. 2.
On Sept. 7 and Sept. 9, the Tigers will compete in a tournament hosted by Rice in Houston, Texas. Memphis first plays former C-USA foe Rice at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening before taking on UL Lafayette at 11 a.m. Sunday morning.
The Tigers conclude the non-conference schedule with a road match against its second SEC opponent of the regular season in Ole Miss on Sept. 16. Kick-off against the Rebels is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Memphis begins conference play on Sept. 20 against Cincinnati. In all, the Tigers have five home conference matches and four road contests. The regular season culminates on Oct. 26 with Senior Day against Tulsa at 7 p.m.
The 2018 American Athletic Conference Championship will take place Oct. 31-Nov. 4. The first round of the NCAA Tournament will then take place Nov. 9-11, 2018 at non-predetermined campus sites.
