Women's tennis set for final road trip of regular season

MEMPHIS, Tenn.– Memphis women's tennis takes a four-match win streak on the road for its final pair of road contests this weekend.
The Tigers (12-7, 2-3) visit UConn for their final league showdown of the regular season before facing off against Boston University in a neutral-site matchup. First serve against the Huskies is set for noon (CT), with the weekend finale against the Terriers slated for 9 a.m. (CT).
In their last outing, Memphis picked up a road sweep at North Texas, downing the Mean Green 4-0. After taking the doubles point, Lina Hohnhold, Katherine Cao and Laura Bente each picked up singles wins. Bente notched her 10thwin in singles play, while Cao extended her win streak to a team-best nine matches.
UConn (9-7, 0-2) had a four-match win streak snapped in a 6-1 setback against Boston College last Sunday. Yelyzaveta Pletnyeva anchors the top spot for the Huskies at 13-3 in dual match play. Jacqueline Lazaro has produced a 10-5 record, primarily playing at the No. 3 position. In doubles, Pletnyeva and teammate Jacquelyn Fitz-Randolph have also teamed up for a 6-0 mark in doubles action.
Boston University (7-9, 2-0) enters the weekend coming off a 7-0 sweep against Rhode Island last Friday. The Terriers feature Iryna Kostirko at the No. 1 position, who is 7-9 in dual match play. Duo Lily Burchell and Remi Ramos have compiled a 9-6 mark in doubles action, all coming at the top spot.
This weekend's matches for the Tigers will mark the first meetings in program history against both UConn and Boston University.
