Women’s Golf Finishes Sixth at Charleston Invitational

Third Straight Top Five Finish for Goldenstein
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Senior women's golfer Emily Goldenstein posted her third straight top five finish at the Charleston Invitational, Tuesday. Goldenstein carded a day three 72 to finish at 215 (-1) for the event and in a tie for fifth overall.
As a team, Memphis slid one spot on Tuesday, scoring a 297 to finish sixth overall with an 887 (297-293-297). Coastal Carolina grabbed the tournament title with an 866, followed by Campbell (870) and East Carolina and Middle Tennessee (882), who tied for third. North Florida snuck in just ahead of Memphis with an 884 to finish fifth.
Michaela Fletcher posted a top 20 finish with a day two 76. Her 221 was five strokes over par and found her in a five-way tie for 20th overall. Sydney Colwill was two strokes back, good for a tie for 26th and Madison Thomas carded a third round 77 to finish at 229, tied for 44th overall.
Abby Herrmann posted her best round of the tournament, scoring a 76, to finish in a tie for 55th overall at 232.
Memphis will now begin prep for the American Athletic Conference Championships. The 2018 championships will be held over three days, Apr. 15-17, at the Hammock Beach Golf & Spa Resort on the Conservatory Course.
