Tigers Have Successful Day At Memphis Invitational

Host squad wins 13 titles, has 25 top-three finishes and sets one school record.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis' Saida Burns-Moore re-set her own school record in the women's high jump and also won the women's triple jump to lead the Tigers in second-day action at the 2018 Memphis Invitational Saturday.
Burns-Moore jumped a school-record 5-10.75 (1.80m) to win the women's high jump. She previously set the school record of 5-10.5 (1.79m) at the Apr. 14 Joe Walker Invitational in Oxford, Miss.
She also won the women's triple jump Saturday, making her a double-winner for the second-straight meet in which she competed. She also won the women's high and triple jumps at the Joe Walker Invitational Apr. 14. Burns-Moore took Saturday's triple jump title with a personal-best 41-7.75 (12.69m) leap. She improved her personal-best by three inches in the event.

- Memphis won 13 titles and had 25 top-three performances in Saturday's Memphis Invitational action.
- Jarred Pasley set his personal-best in the men's 400 meters (46.45). His previous-best was 46.79 during his career at Southeast Missouri.
- Kate Hise placed second in the women's shot put with a personal-best throw, improving her mark by over eight inches. It was the second-straight week she set her personal-best in the event. The second-place performance was her second top-three finish of the season.
- Rafael Vallery improved his personal-best in the men's shot put by nearly a foot. His previous-best came at the Crimson Tide Invitational in early April. The second-place finish was his fifth top-two performance in the event this outdoor season.
- Adam Neelly and Parker Evans both recorded personal-bests in the men's shot put. Neelly's personal-best improved by over a foot, and Evans by six inches.
- Allie Hughes and Lily Moore both set personal-bests in the women's pole vault. Hughes' effort improved her previous-best by over five inches.
- Melinda Murdock won her second career title in the women's 400-meter hurdles. It was her fifth career top-three performance in the event.
- Jasmine Taylor ran a personal-best in the women's 400 meter hurdles.
- Noah Agnew set his personal-best in the men's high jump for a second-straight week.
- Matthew Viveiros improved his personal-best in the men's 800 meters and posted his best performance in the event since the 2016 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships.
- Michael Carey posted a personal-best in the men's 400-meter hurdles Saturday. His previous-best in the event came at the 2017 conference championships meet.
- In addition to Burns-Moore, Nicole Lawson and Sandra Ekblom also set personal-bests in the women's triple jump. Lawson improved her previous-best by nearly seven inches, and Ekblom did so by nearly two feet.
- Evans, Vallery and Neelly all had personal-bests in the men's discus. Evans improved his mark by five feet, Vallery by nearly five feet and Neelly by over four feet.
- Paige Sandwell ran a personal-best in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase.
