Women’s Golf Teeing Off at AAC Championships Sunday

Tee times off one begin at 7:30 a.m. Sunday in an effort to avoid afternoon thunderstorms.
MEMPHIS –The University of Memphis women's golf team will tee off at The American Championship at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Florida, Sunday. Memphis, the four seed for the event, has a five-player contingent at the event, led by senior Emily Goldenstein. Goldenstein has posted three straight top five finishes heading in to her final AAC championship event.
There are 10 teams in this year's event and the tournament will play twosomes starting at 7:30 am (ET) with anticipated weather expected later Sunday. Memphis will be teamed with players from SMU.
Sophomore Abby Herrmann, who tied for first at the Magnolia Invitational in the fall, will be the first Lady Tiger off the first tee at 8:10 am (ET).
Madison Thomas, who three top 15 finishes this spring, will be the second off the first tee, at 8:18 am.
Sydney Colwill, who closed her fall with medalist honors in Hawaii, will go off at 8:26, followed by Michaela Fletcher at 8:34 am. Fletcher finished fifth at the AAC Championships as a freshman, then finished 26that the event last year after missing a year due to injury.
UCF is the defending conference champ and last year's individual medalist, Kaeli Jones, is also back and owns the lowest round in the league so far this season, having carded a 65 earlier this spring.
The tournament will play rounds two and three on Monday and Tuesday with tee times expected to go off at 8:00 am (ET). Live scoring for all three rounds will be available at results.golfstat.com. Live video coverage will be available for the final round on Tuesday beginning at noon (ET) on the American Digital Network via Facebook Live.
