MEMPHIS, Tenn. – On the heels of a six-match win streak, the Memphis women's tennis team welcomes Western Kentucky for its regular season finale Saturday afternoon.
First serve from the Racquet Club of Memphis is set for approximately 1 p.m. and will begin 40 minutes after the conclusion of the Memphis men's tennis match, which is slated for 10 a.m.
Saturday's contest will also serve as senior day. The Tigers (14-7, 3-3) will honor Anki Wind and Hanna Sohn for their stellar careers.
Wind, who has compiled 80 singles wins in dual match play, touts a 15-3 ledger this season. The two-time All-Conference honoree also made a NCAA Championship appearance in doubles in 2015 and has garnered four AAC Player of the Week accolades in her career.
Sohn, who transferred to Memphis from the University of Arizona, has tallied 46 victories in three seasons as a Tiger. Sohn, who surged into the Top 20 regional rankings two seasons ago, boasts an 11-4 mark in dual match play this season.
The Tigers turned in a pair of victories last weekend at UConn and against Boston University. The two wins pushed the team's win streak to six, and a victory on Saturday would mark the longest win streak in the Head Coach Hayden Perez era.
The Hilltoppers (8-6, 2-2) seek to snap a three-match slide on Saturday. In their most recent outing, WKU dropped a 4-1 match against No. 41 FIU on Sunday in Nashville. Moka Ito leads the Hilltoppers in singles play with a 10-1 record. Ito also teams up with Monica Malinen for an 8-2 mark in doubles.
Memphis holds an 11-4 advantage in the all-time series, including victories in the last seven meetings.
