River Landing Classic Third Round Results

Team Finishes Third

MEMPHIS – Senior women's golfer Emily Goldenstein carded two season-low rounds in 54 holes of competition at the River Landing Classic to finish runner-up to Rutgers' Emily Mills. Goldenstein's third round 69 on Tuesday, which tied her season low round from the Moon Golf Classic and from Monday's first round, moved her up three spots in the standings to second place. She finished with a 213, one stroke off of Mills' medalist score.

As a team, Memphis finished third at the event, finishing behind number 50 ranked Campbell (857), and number 31 ranked East Carolina (868), four strokes ahead of the Lady Tigers' contingent (871).

Michaela Fletcher had her best finish of the spring, carding a 73 in the third round to finish tied for 8^th at 216. Her opening round 69 was her best round of the season and her 216 was her best 54-hole score since the Lady Paladin Invitational in Memphis' second event of the fall. The top 10 finish is the 13^th of her career at Memphis and matches her 8^th place finish at the Lady Paladin Invitational.

Madison Thomas followed up her day one pair of 71s with a third round 78. After opening her third round with a birdie on one, Thomas finished at +6 on Tuesday. Her 220 is good for a tie for 12^th and gives her a third top 20 finish on the season.

Sydney Colwill jumped 10 spots in her final round, using birdies on 7 and 15 to go to -2. A bogey on 18 pushed her back to -1, with her final round 71 giving her a 222, good for a tie for 23^rd overall.
Abby Herrmann carded a 78 in her third round to finish with a 234, good for a tie for 59^th overall.

Rutgers' Emily Mills grabbed individual medalist honors. Her 212 (76-69-67) pushed her one stroke ahead of Goldenstein for the Tuesday win. Campbell teammates Annelie Sjoholm and Ayelen Irizar finished behind Goldenstein with a 214 and 215, respectively. Campbell had four players finish in the top 12 to grab the team win.

The Lady Tigers will return to Memphis to begin preparations for their next event, the 3M Augusta Invitational, Mar. 16-18. That three-day event will be held in Augusta, Georgia.
