MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – University of Memphis' Levi Clark and Leighton Dempster paced the Tigers rifle team's effort with top-20 finishes at the 2018 Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) Championships.

Clark, a sophomore, shot a 578 in smallbore to place 15^th in the discipline, and Dempster, a junior, was 19^th in air rifle with a 589 mark. Dempster was the Tigers' second-highest finisher in smallbore, coming in 31^st with a 572 score.

Freshman Matt Dorey recorded the squad's second-best score in air rifle with a 587 for 27^th place. Dorey also was just behind Dempster in smallbore at 33^rd (572).

Memphis, as a team, shot a 4624 aggregate (2291-2333). The Tigers' aggregate was its lowest since they shot 4611 versus Akron Oct. 14. Memphis had an aggregate average of nearly 4650 in its four matches heading into the GARC Championships.

Dempster (1161), Clark (1160) and Dorey (1160) posted Memphis' top-three aggregate scores at the GARC Championships.
