Men’s Tennis Starting ITA All-American Run Saturday

Six Tigers starting in pre-qualifying draw.

MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis men's tennis team will have six players start their respective ITA All-American runs in the prequalifying draw that gets under way, Saturday.

Felix Rauch, Chris Patzanovsky and Shakeel Manji will all be playing in their first event of the fall. The upperclassmen all have previous experience in the All-American's win-and-advance event.

Jan Pallares, Turner Voges and Matt Story will all be playing in their second events of the season this weekend. All three participated in the Alabama Four-in-the-Fall last weekend and are hoping the jump start to their fall slates helps them power through the prequalifying draw in to the next level, the qualifying draw.

If any of the six push through to the qualifying draw, they will be joined there by teammate Kai Lemke. Lemke also played in the Alabama event last week and starts his singles and doubles run in the qualifying round. Lemke will be teamed with Story in the qualifying doubles draw. Qualifying round singles and doubles begins on Sunday, with the main draw singles and doubles starting on Wednesday, Sept. 27^th.
