Tigers land one student-athlete on the Preseason All-Conference Team
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's soccer team has been selected eighth in the American Athletic Conference Preseason Poll as voted on by the league coaches Tuesday morning. Memphis finished in a tie for seventh place last season with a 2-4-1 conference record and the Tigers were 8-8-1 overall.
UConn, with four first-place votes, was selected to win the AAC. Tulsa was selected second and USF rounded out the top three.
Sophomore midfielder Jackson Morse, the top returning goal-scorer from the 2016 season, was named to the Preseason All-Conference Team. Morse finished with six goals in his freshman campaign and was named to the All-Rookie Team and TopDrawerSoccer's Top 100 Freshman list.
Against No. 25 UConn at home in 2016, Morse scored both goals in the 2-0 shutout victory and earned a spot on the College Soccer News Team of the Week.
