Junior forward receives more preseason honors

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis junior Marie Levasseur has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer Preseason Best XI third team. The preseason honor comes a week after Levasseur was named to the preseason All-American Athletic Conference team.

Levasseur, a third-team pick, is a two-time all-conference player for the Tigers and was named the 2015 AAC Rookie of the Year. She enters the season with 11 career goals and nine assists.

She finished third on the team with 16 points last season, knocking in five goals and recording six assists. Three of her goals were game-winners, including a double overtime winner in the regular-season finale against UCF.

The American Athletic Conference preseason favorites, Memphis opens the season at Mike Rose Soccer Complex against Samford on Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. The Tigers will continue the weekend home stand by hosting Little Rock Sunday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m.
