Memphis Adds Men's Golfer for 2017-18
Aug 10, 2017 | Men's Golf
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis head men's golf coach Blake Smart has added Jordan Even to the roster for the 2017-18 season.
Even played last season at Kirkwood Community College, averaged 75.26 strokes per round for the Eagles, which took second place at the NJCAA Division II Nationals.
"We are very pleased to pick up a quality player late in the year," said Smart. "Jordan has shown the ability to win tournaments at the junior college level, and in my experience, winning is a skill that not everyone has. I would expect Jordan to see significant time this year."
The incoming junior finished in the top-10 in tournaments seven times, including twice tying for medalist honors, and twice finishing second. He tied for 24th at the national tournament, and tied for the medalist honors at the Region XI Championship.
Even was named a First Team All-Region performer and was also selected to the Academic All-Region list.
He twice shot his low round score of 69, including in the second tournament of the season, and in the third round of the national championship. He led the Eagles in scoring average, and was ranked 77th in all of junior college in scoring average.
