Men's Tennis Opening Spring Season at ITA Kick Off Weekend

Tigers to face Arkansas in opening round at Georgia.
MEMPHIS – For the sixth straight spring, the University of Memphis men's tennis team will open its spring dual schedule in the ITA Kick Off Weekend. The Tigers were invited to participate in the event after finishing the 2016-17 season among the nation's best teams.
In Thursday's ITA Kick Off Draft, the Tigers selected the Georgia regional. At that regional, Memphis will be the two seed and will face three-seeded Arkansas in the first round. Host Georgia will be the top seed and will face Iowa in the other match at the Athens. The winners of those first round matches will advance to the regional championship match and the winner of that pod will advance to the Indoor Team Championships, hosted this year by the University of Washington in Seattle, Feb. 16-19.
Memphis capped the 2016-17 season ranked number 36 in the country and finished with a 15-9 overall record.
