Neelly Competes At USATF Junior Championships Saturday

Tigers freshman places 14th in men's discus.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – For the second-straight day, University of Memphis freshman Adam Neelly was in action at the 2017 USA Track and Field (USATF) Outdoor Junior National Championships Saturday. Sacramento State's Hornet Stadium is the site of the juniors national meet.

Neelly competed in the men's discus and finished 14^th. He had a throw of 156-3 (47.64m), and it came on his second attempt.

On Friday, Neelly also placed 14^th in the men's shot put with a 57-2 (17.42m) throw. The throw was his second-best of the outdoor season, falling shy of his season-best 57-7.75 (17.57m) mark.

Neelly fouled on his first two attempts and recorded his mark on his third and final throw.

On Sunday, Tigers sophomore Jordan Wesner competes in the men's high jump at the USATF Senior Championships. The event starts at 2:05 p.m. (CT).
