Colin Dubnik Advances to U.S. Open Qualifier

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - On Monday, May 15, University of Memphis rising sophomore Colin Dubnik advanced to the qualifying round of the USGA U.S. Open.
Dubnik tied for second in a field of 78 golfers to advance to the qualifying round for the 2017 U.S. Open. Dubnik shot a round of 76 (+5) at Oak Hill Country Club in Mendon, New York.
The qualifier will be held at Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, New Jersey, on June 5. The qualifying site is one of 12 in the country, and competitors will play 36 holes on June 5 for a chance of a place in the 2017 U.S. Open, held this year at Erin Hills Golf Club, just outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on June 15-18.
Dubnik ended the 2016-17 season by playing in 17 rounds during the season, with a scoring average of 76.4 strokes per round, including a team-best 74.2 strokes in a tournaments' third round. he carded a season-low round of 69 in the final round of The Maxwell Intercollegiate on April 15, and tied for 27th in the field a the 2017 American Athletic Conference Championships.
