Tigers Take On USF In Quarterfinals of American Athletic Conference Tournament

Memphis earned No. 5 seed and have matched up with No. 4 USF
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis softball team, the No. 5 seed, is set to take on No. 4-seeded USF in the quarterfinals of the American Athletic Conference Tournament Thursday morning at 9 a.m. CT in Greenville, N.C. Memphis finished the regular season with a 28-26 overall record and 7-11 mark in conference play to earn the No. 5 seed in the tournament.
The tournament is single elimination format with the No. 1 seed receiving a bye in the quarterfinals. The winner of the Memphis/USF game will take on No. 1 Tulsa Friday at 12 p.m. CT.

This is the fourth season for the American Athletic Conference Tournament and Memphis is seeking its first victory in the postseason tournament. Memphis fell to USF in the first season before dropping the last two seasons in the first game to Houston.

- USF finished the regular season going 1-2 against Houston on the road.
- Kristen Wyckoff, a First-Team All-AAC pick, leads the team with a .414 batting average. Astin Donovan has recorded a team-high 50 hits and has scored 26 runs.
- Cheyenne Eggens, another First-Team All-AAC, leads the team in the circle with a 1.82 ERA in 92.1 innings pitched. She has a 9-6 overall record. Hannah Parker leads the team with 90 strikeouts and a 2.72 ERA.
- Ken Eriksen is the head coach of the Bulls and is five wins shy of 900 career victories.
