Creighton and Elmore combine for almost half of the Tiger offense
UNCASVILLE, Conn. – University of Memphis junior forward Cheyenne Creighton and junior guard Brea Elmore have been named to the American Athletic Conference Third-Team as announced by the conference Thursday afternoon. This is the first time since joining The American that the Tigers have had two members on either the first, second, or third team in the same season.
Â
The 2014 season saw two members on the All-Freshman Team as well as a first-team selection.
Â
This is the first time that either player has earned a postseason accolade. Both players have seen a significant increase in playing time from a year ago and combined, they account for almost 50 percent of the Tiger scoring.
Â
Creighton finished the regular season averaging a team-high 14.7 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. She has scored six, 20+-point games for the Tigers including a career-high 26 in the victory over Vanderbilt on Dec. 28. She also was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll four times this season, the most of any Tiger.
Â
Elmore scored a career-high 12.7 points per game this season, a mark ranking second on the Tiger squad and 19th in the conference. She accounted for three 20+-point games including a career-high 25 points in victory over UCF on Jan. 28.

Â
Elmore has also been a threat at the free throw line, hitting 75.4 percent of her attempts. This season, she has made 49 total free throws which more than quadruples her total made from her first two seasons combined.
