Alexander Recognized on Weekly Honor Roll for Second Time

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Connor Alexander has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season.

Alexander was dominant for 7 1/3 innings against Southern Illinois, allowing just one unearned run on four hits.

The junior right-hander had faced the minimum through six innings before getting into a little trouble in the seventh. Alexander would have been out of the jam if not for a two-out error that allowed a run to score.

Over his last three starts, Alexander has allowed just four earned runs in 19 2/3 innings pitched. He has struck out 18 and walked just three.

Memphis will host Mississippi Valley State Tuesday at 5 p.m. at FedExPark, before hiting the road for the team's first weekend road trip of the season, to Missouri State March 17-19.
