Greenlee Earns Second AAC Weekly Honor This Season

Senior won triple jump, fifth in long jump last weekend.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Memphis' Chardae Greenlee has been named the American Athletic Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
It is Greenlee's second conference indoor Athlete of the Week accolade this season and the third indoor weekly honor of her career. Overall, this is Greenlee's fifth career league recognition for indoor and outdoor seasons combined. She also has earned two outdoor Athlete of the Week awards.
At the Feb. 3-4 Southern Illinois' Don DeNoon Invitational, Greenlee won the triple jump and placed fifth in the long jump. It was the first time in the senior's career that she placed in the top-five in both events at the same indoor meet.
The Hazelcrest, Ill., native won the triple jump with a mark of 41-10 (12.75m) and also posted a 17-11.5 (5.47m) effort in the long jump. The indoor triple jump title was the eighth of her career. Her first-place finish also was the 19th time in her career that she placed in the top-five in an indoor triple jump competition.
Her 41-10 triple jump mark is the second-longest in the American Athletic Conference and 28th-best nationally.
Greenlee is the two-time triple jump runner-up at the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships in 2015 and 2016. She earned All-America accolades in the triple jump at the 2015 NCAA Indoor Championships.
The Tigers men's and women's track and field squads return to action this weekend at the Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tenn. Vanderbilt is the host school for the meet.
