In the week opener against USF, he played 35 minutes and scored 29 points while pulling down nine rebounds. He also dished out six assists, grabbed three steals, and blocked a shot. He made 11-of-18 shots (61.1%) against the Bulls, 1-of-4 from long range, and 6-of-8 from the free throw line.
Two days later against UCF he played the entire 40 minutes, and scored 28 points with 10 rebounds and 3 assists. Lawson also picked up three steals and a blocked shot. Lawson is the only player in NCAA Division I to be inside of the top-10 of their conference in rebounds (first), scoring (second), blocked shots (fourth), steals (t-9th), and assists (10th).
For the season Lawson averages 19.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, totals that only one other person since 1992-93 has averaged (Ben Simmons of LSU, last season).
The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, February 7, when the team plays host to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in a 6 p.m. tip-off on ESPNU.
